Q. Will you install products such as a water heater or a faucet that I purchase elsewhere?
A. We will gladly install any product you purchase. While we’ll guarantee the installation of your product for one year, we can’t offer a guarantee on your product. If there is a problem with your item, you will have to contact the store where you purchased it or the manufacturer to discuss their warranty.

Q. What is your warranty?
A. We offer a one-year warranty on labor. Product warranties vary based on product, brand, and where it is purchased from.

Q. Will you work on my window air conditioner?
A. Unfortunately, we can’t work on window units. They are not currently designed in a way which allows us to work on them.

Q. How long have you been in business?
A. 2016 marks Northern Air’s 25th Anniversary. We were founded in 1991 by Dick and Sally Fenner. The current owners, Dave and Erin Rom, purchased the business in 2005.

Q. Are you the same business Northern Air Plumbing & Heating Grand Rapids?
A. Northern Air Aitkin and Northern Air Grand Rapids are not the same business. The two were at one time, but since became separate entities.

Q. What types of work do you perform?
A. We focus on residential plumbing, heating and air conditioning service and installation. We do some commercial work, however.

Q. Do you offer coupons and/or discounts?
A. Rarely. We prefer to keep our overhead low so that we can consistently pass those savings on to our customers. However, like us on Facebook and make sure we have your email address on file to keep up to date with any offers we may have.

Q. What areas to do you cover?
A. We cover a service area that is within about a one hour drive of Aitkin.

Q. Do you service brands besides the ones you carry?
A. Yes. We will be more than happy to diagnose your problem and recommend a solution based on that.

Q. How often should I change my furnace filter?
A. We recommend that you change your filter at least once a month, more often if necessary. The filter can still be dirty even if it looks clean.

Q. What do you recommend to treat my hard water?
A. We recommend doing a water test which allows us to determine the best way to treat your water. Prices for water testing start at $35.00 depending on what kind of testing needs to be done.

Q. How often do you recommend I have my HVAC system cleaned/inspected?
A. We recommend having the system examined by one of our techs at least once a year. Check out our service agreement page for more information.

Q. Why should I choose Northern Air?
A. That’s not a question we can answer for you. Read our reviews and testimonials to decide for yourself. Just remember, that we will do everything we can to help you and keep you on budget.

Q. Are the services listed on here the only ones you provide?
A. No. If you aren’t sure whether or not we provide the service you are looking for, please give us a call. If we don’t do it, we will do our best to point you in the right direction.

Q. Do you do duct cleaning?
A. Unfortunately, not at this time. We are working on providing it in the future, however.
