Joe is on the phone with Melissa

Melissa: I heard what happened today.

Joe: You mean the water heater?

Melissa: How’d you find out?

Joe: Going through photos of the job.

It was obvious – he installed the wrong one.

Melissa: He was really embarrassed.

Joe: <rueful laugh>

I was embarrassed.

I called the homeowner. Fessed up.

Told him we’d screwed up, and we’d come fix it.

Melissa: What’d that cost us?

Joe: <sighs>

Oh, it hurt.

Melissa: (sincere)

I’m sorry, Joe.

(changing the subject – bright)

Dinner’s at six.

And we’re outta butter.

Joe: I’m on it!
